Glasgow, MO resident, William “Joe” White, passed away suddenly at his home at the age of 61.
William Keith White was born January 8, 1963 in Kansas City, MO, a son to the late Helen Wilma White. William was raised by Roy and Inez White in Forest Green, MO. He graduated from Salisbury High School with the class of 1981, where he excelled in Football and Track. He then attended and played football at Central Methodist University in Fayette. William had a good work ethic throughout his life. Starting at the age of 13, he began doing farm work for Harvey Linneman. He continued working for Linneman Farms after college. William primarily worked as a surveyor for the Soil and Water Conservation division of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. When the Glasgow bridge was being replaced, William helped operate the ferry for crossing the Missouri River. William loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his two children, Brandon White of Columbia, MO and Jolisa Inez White of Dallas, TX; two siblings, Mike (Mary) White of Glasgow, MO and Mary Irene White of Forest Green, MO; special granddaughter, Datriana Nichols-White of Fort Worth, TX; numerous grandchildren; aunt, Helen Lewis White of Forest Green, MO, along with a host of cousins and friends. In addition to his mother, William was preceded in death by four siblings, Bobby Joe White, LeRoy White, Jr., Gerald White and Martha Laurine Warrick.
A funeral service honoring the life of William “Joe” White will be 11 AM, Friday, February 16, 2024 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Earl Howell officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service starting at 10 AM. Burial will follow the service at Roanoke Cemetery.
